這部電影內容分二部份，第一部份是介紹早期曾拍攝的一部無聲電影(伐本工人)，及家屬對該電影相關事件的緬懷；第二部介紹美國一家無聲電影院幾番換手經營，一直堅持到現在的過程，電影創立之前四十多年是無聲拍攝，放映時在電影院另請樂手現場伴奏，這在基頓的『福爾摩斯二世』影片中可得到印證。默片其實已經包含最偉大的電影中的很大比率，甚至現代的電影都無法超越默片的成就，在現在如此繁華的商業中堅持放映默片電影者，確實...
